"Ultimate zombie apocalypse duffel gear bag!"

Mike M. on 7/13/2012 12:22:17 PM

Comments: I wish I could give this product a much higher rating than just a smiley face. This is a bag made to be abused and used daily, I have put it to the ultimate test of traveling. Both as a carry on and also checking it through baggage claims many times. Not a single issue, it passes through both TSA screen checks with flying colors. I have over loaded it with a week’s worth of clothes and gear and the bag’s fit, form, and function has never failed once. The back pack option is a must when walking between terminals to make connecting flights. The bag is tough, smartly designed and more importantly looks great This is the ultimate zombie apocalypse duffel gear bag!

"Fliegerduffel on a Ryanair fly travel"

Giuseppe Ciclope on 5/21/2012 8:47:10 AM

Comments: Finally i have tested the Fliegerduffel on a Ryanair fly travel. The handbag fit perfectly in the metal box about Ryanair company. It's great for hand luggage on flights, exactly the right size for the overhead compartment. MXPEDITION RULEZ!!!!!!!

"Wonderful Bag!"

John D. on 3/18/2012 6:07:41 AM

Comments: I am impressed with the quality of this duffle bag. I use it when I travel on airplanes as a carry on since it does not exceed the size of the FAA Regulations size limits. I also use it to carry supplies to my work. I am very grateful to have stumbled across this bag just before I moved to a new state and needed a larger bag to carry my supplies. Thank you Maxpedition, John D. Former Navy SEAL Team 6

"Good Carry on and Car travel bag."

AMC on 10/14/2011 2:08:55 PM

Comments: Excellent bag for Airline travel. Would love to just have this bag alone sometimes when traveling I think it would serve all needs if I did not have to check other gear all the time. The backpack straps immediately came in handy for long concourse walks. This bag was OFF THE FLOOR in the bathrooms also while everyone else parks theirs in the pools of urine. Other uses: the best car camping bag and weekender bag ever! I don't know why, but you can overpack the bag beyond reason and it still stays in a compact shape!

"Fantastic Bag"

Qbert on 10/12/2011 8:53:43 AM

Comments: This is a burly, awesome bag. One of the things I like most is the scaleability. It compresses down nicely, though not excessively, when you don't have a lot of stuff to put in it, and it holds a surprising amount when you need to fill it. I've only had mine for a few month so I can't comment on it's long-term durability, but it feels nearly indestructable. For air travel, it fits nicely in most regional jet overheads, but it's a very tight fit on older jets with small overheads, and probably won't fit at all on small commuter planes. It's kind of a pricy bag, but I'm very happy with it so far! I highly recommend!

Comments: I love this bag!! It is all quality and is worth every penny. I really like the optional accessories. I truly believe this is the last travel bag I will ever need.

"Like it so far"

HenryII on 8/24/2011 8:50:38 PM

Comments: I bought this to use as my main bag while traveling, especially flying, since it meets carry-on requirements. Just got back from a trip to Boston and New York and put the Flegerduffel to the test. So far I'm impressed with the bag. Like other reviewers have said, this bag is deceptively voluminous and can fit quite a bit. In fact, I over-packed the bag (due to the fact that I attended a wedding in NY and had to pack more than I normally would), and although I was able to fit everything inside - clothes for 5 days (packing somewhat light), extra dress shoes, SLR camera and extra lens, toiletries, and a small backpack which I used as my personal bag on plane/ train - I found out the hard way that there is a weight limit to what one can comfortably carry while using the backpack or shoulder strap. Although I could fit everything inside with some effort, the bag became uncomfortable to wear after walking for extended periods. This, of course, was due to user error and not poor bag design. During the times when items were removed from the bag, it became much more comfortable to carry. As far as durability, I have not had the bag long enough yet to vouch for this yet; although it did a fine job through all the compartments and areas it went through during the 5 days, including planes, trains, buses, subway, cars, and taxis with no issues. The outside side pockets are nicely placed and useful (I used one pocket for my 3-1-1 toiletry bag and was able to get it out quickly at security checkpoints). The main pocket is large and has a nice strap to secure your clothes/cargo. The inside mesh pockets are nice, if not a bit small. I found myself wishing they were a tad bit bigger, or that it was one large mesh pocket instead of 2 smaller, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Other additions I would have liked are a handle on one or both of the long sides (there are handles on the top and bottom, but not on the sides), although I might be able to fashion one using the MOLLE webbing. Lastly, a hip belt might have helped distribute the load while using the backpack straps, but also would add weight to the bag. Overall, this is a nice carry-on bag that fits easily in overhead compartments and that can fit enough for a 3-5 day trip or more if properly packed.

"OUTSTANDING +++"

Stanton on 8/5/2011 11:11:15 PM

Comments: I am a former police officer, veteran, and now work in emergency management. I wish I had the Fliegerduffel when I was in the Army and it would have allowed for more space in my cruiser instead of the traditional gear bag! I have the Doppleduffel also which is also an outstanding pack. The Fliegerduffel works for those smaller trips, serves as an outstanding "Go Bag" and additionally serves as my daily work bag carrying a number of binders with important reference materials as well as my two cell phones, flashlight, first aid kit, spare office supplies, and can quickly be converted to my Go Bag for possible field work. The generous MOLLE attachments are additionally helpful for additional storage for quick access items. I only wish that it had adjustable/removable dividers, but I'm resourceful enough to make those on my own. OUTSTANDING JOB MAX!!! Both the Fliegerduffel and Doppleduffel can't be beat! Keep up the great and innovative work!!!

"Fliegerduffel "

Zee on 7/6/2011 8:22:42 AM

Comments: Just came back from a 4-day trip to New Orleans using this bag as my carry-on luggage. It ROCKED!! On top of packing clothes, shoes, camera and case, toiletry bag, first aid items, pen fishing rod and reel, EDC items, I also fit a queen sized air mattress and pump in there!! I'm happy I made the decision to get this bag. It is very versatile. I like the option of unzipping just either side of the mesh departments for easy access to items without having to unzip the entire bag. The top zippered part held my flight documents nicely and the front and rear zippered parts held a phone charger, small SOS survival handbook as well as a notepad, ink pen, and a bandana. I couldn't help but to keep "sharing" all the nice features of this bag with my significant other. She finally rolled her eyes in the back of her head and said, "Gosh, you should buy some stock in that company or be the company spokesperson. Hmmm... now thats an idea... I usually don't write product reviews, so that should tell you something about how much I like this bag. :-)

"So awesome my wife bought one too!"

Fred Aron on 1/1/2011 6:14:45 AM

Comments: I used this to travel and it fit everything I needed, moving through the airport and trains with it on my back was such an improvement over wheeled bags. I watched so many people struggling to fit their so called "carry on" sized wheeled bags into the overhead and mine just slide right in. My wife liked it so much she ordered one for herself. This bag(like all the other products from you) is everything I need, nothing I don't. Thank you!

"AWESOME"

Dean Hallin on 9/19/2010 3:37:04 AM

Comments: Simply put, this is an awesome bag. I was able to pack 5 days worth of cloths, pair of flip-flops, small toiletry kit, a camera, and my laptop. I still had a little room to go. The compression straps work great and the the shoulder strap is wide and comfortable. The best part is it fit in the overhead compartment in a small american eagle commuter jet better than those stupid roller bags that people had. This will be my first pick on short trips. Highly recommend this bag!!

"Great Carry-on Bag"

Vacationer PG on 8/25/2010 8:42:03 PM

Comments: Took this bag and a Pygmy Falcon II backpack on a 7 day vacation trip to Oahu. Perfect set up plus avoided baggage fees and other airport hassles. The single shoulder strap is well balanced and easy to carry. Never deployed the backpack style shoulder straps. The compression straps are excellent. If you can pack lightly, I highly recommend this excellent bag over a wheeled carry on.

"Best carry on ever!!!"

raz-n-co on 2/18/2010 10:42:38 PM

Comments: I had to take a last minute trip to shoot a fundraiser for Haiti. I got 3 days of clothes, 2 cameras, a converter box and a laptop in a pelican case inside this bag. I have no idea how it fit in there. I let my wife use it for a trip and now I am buying her one for herself. Again Maxpedition knocks one out of the park. Well done guys, well done.

"Fliegerduffel"

Brad Fogle on 9/22/2009 12:03:27 AM

Comments: This is an incredible bag that has served me well as a constantly deploying Airman. I purchased this bag due to my need for a tactical carry-on bag to use when traveling. I have been pleasantly surprised by the versatility of this bag and its ability to withstand all types of abuse. This bag has now been on trips to and from Iraq, training trips, and general use. It has survived superbly through all manner of over-stuffing! My primary reason for purchasing this size of bag was to fall within FAA carry-on sizing. No other bag that I've seen gives you the maximum possible space with minimum fuss. The open expanse of the bag's interior allows you to pack enough gear to last 72 hours or more. There is ample space to put an entire uniform with boots inside the bag and have room left over for your laptop and extra personal items. Even when completely stuffed to the point of being hard to zip close, the bag STILL fits into overhead luggage compartments on small commuter jets. When traveling, I often unzip just one end of the bag to access my laptop and travel accessories that I put into one of the mesh pockets. The design of the bag allows you to have it completely open for packing, then minimally open for when you are traveling and want to get at things. To summarize, this is the best traveler bag ever. Its ability to fit into overhead airline compartments when completely filled is its best testament. The bag can be purchased in a low key Black, Tan or Foliage Green, or be completely tactical in an ACU print or OD Green. If you travel constantly and hate the confining compartments of backpacks, this is your relief!

"FLIEGERDUFFEL : Air Travel and Motorcycle Cargo"

Duncan on 8/25/2009 6:05:47 AM

Comments: This is the best Air travel bag i have ever bought . It just works good . Now if you have to take a suit it's not what you want .. but then few bags are. I can load all the clothing I need for a three day trip . Shirts pants , underwear my 17 inch laptop and power brick. The Molly straps on the back are great for adding on extra bags . The TSA and the airline restrictions on 1+ 1 or what ever the hell it is .. you can fudge on to a point because if the " extra " bags are clipped on the main bag it's not as noticeable . You get on the plane and separate the outer bags off and it all fits on the overhead. The carry handles on each end and the top are good. No matter how the bag hits the floor there are at least two handles available . Using the backpack straps is the best for me . I have my extra bags clipped on front and rear to balance the load and I like the " all in one " idea for mobility . If I have to take off on a dead run.. I have EVERYTHING " and my hands are free to open doors or self defense . With this bags' cargo capability and the Molly straps my three days of clothing , laptop extras , camera bag , and one extra butpack with assorted items . I load out at about 55lbs . If I checked that in I would have to pay extra for over 50lbs for a bag. To be honest I could get more weight on with bigger secondary bags. I don't get any second glances with this set up. 70 lbs would be very easy . The four synch straps on the side were configured the right way . If the bag is not stuffed to the max these straps pull it down tight to keep flop and slop down. They also designed it so you can stow the backpack straps in a pocket for carry only or to keep them out of the way .
