Great Paramedic work pouch

Over the years of being an EMT and Paramedic I have become a bit more of a “Ricky Rescue”, and this is the newest edition to my Paramedic bat belt. I love this pouch. As all of us who already own anything Maxpedition, know that the quality is the best and will last a lifetime. It’s just big enough to where it’s not too bulky on my detachable belt that I put on for calls. So far I’ve only set it up for IV starts and also fit a Celox pouch in it as well so I have quick access to it if needed. I keep a simple layout with no clutter and it offers a nice “work bench” for me to set the items I’m using since the paracord can be adjusted to stop the pouch from opening to whatever angle you prefer. Mine stops at 90 degrees to give the “work bench” I mentioned. Plus that means any looser items won’t go falling out of your pouch when opened. I love being able to establish IV access without having to dig through my bag for the equipment. Last week I had two full arrest calls where I just took a knee next to an arm and popped in a line from my new First Responder Pouch while my partner just had to spike a bag and hand it to me with our first round of Epi. Was super convenient and left the bag to be easily accessed by just my EMT instead of both of us trying to grab things out of it. Love the look of the pouch and the Velcro on front. Obviously this pouch can be set up in an unlimited set of configurations and used for many different needs. The adjustable paracord and size of the retention loops inside definitely set this pack apart for medical use. As a 12 year First Responder myself, I recommend this pouch to anyone looking for a great medical pouch. My only recommendation from watching video reviews on it is to not stuff it so full of medical equipment that you can’t find what you need quickly when you need it. Make sure it stays functional if you imagine having to use it in an actual emergency.

GREAT POUCH!

I've been using the FRP pouch for about a year now to house a small "blowout" kit, and it's a great little pouch. It is absolutely made of quality materials and has held up well to the normal wear and tear I put it through. Generally speaking it is laid out well. The one thing I would love to see Max try to improve on are the internal strap/bungee system. They used a fairly robust elastic material which might be overkill for the inside of the pouch. The strapping itself is fairly thick which actually takes up a fair amount of room. So much so that I've actually thought about cutting it out a couple times. It's also probably too robust in that it actually doesn't stretch too well for the type of smaller items one would generally carry in a kit like this. Lastly, the way the straps are anchored on the inside tends to bunch everything up into the center line of the pouch leaving the sides unused. I'd love to see them use either a lighter weight, more flexible bungee like I've seen in some of their other pouches. And if they could come up with a way to anchor it in a manner that more evenly distributes the contents, that would be great. The other downside to placing bungees of this nature into the internals of a pouch is that you are then locked into distributing gear in accordance with how THEY have laid it out. It would be nice if there was a way that the end user could configure the tie downs. If Max could figure out a way to do that it would really set them apart from the competition.

The FRP

I needed a small bag for the essentials while working. This, like the DEP bag, are perfect. They are flawless and operate in conditions they were designed for. It is the only brand of bag I will use. I have an about 10 year old Falcon II Legacy that has seen use everyday of work and looks like the day I got it. I am contemplating to the AGR line. You certainly get what you pay for.
