Maxpedition recently sponsored "The Park Shootout 2018" an all law-enforcement shooting competition held on October 29, 2018, at Burro Canyon Shooting Park.   Contestants were all active duty peace officers from local, state and federal agencies namely West Covina Police Department, Los Angeles Airport Police Department (LAX PD), California Highway Patrol (CHP) and US Customs and Border Protection (US CBP).

The event began promptly at 7 am with the all-important safety and medical brief, then kicked off with the team event named “Well That Sucked” a tongue-in-cheek reference to contest stages that mimicked less-than-ideal situations experienced by on-duty tactical officers.  Individual events ranged from solo "3 gun runs" to marksmanship with a .50cal sniper rifle.

Awesome prizes awaited the winners such as Maxpedition's Riftblade Backpack and Entity 16 Slingpack.  Other prizes included Agency Arms S&W Shield Pistol, Mossberg 590M Mag-fed pump-action Shotgun, Crye Precision LVS Base Vest from Exa Tactical; range bag, double rifle case, sling backpack, tactical flashlight from NcStar; bailout bag with flashlight, knife, hat, coffee mug from LA Police Gear; ammo cans, steel targets from Alco Targets; static stand 3D SWAT target, Peacekeeper expandable batons from Dummies Unlimited; certificates for Safariland bags or Bianchi holsters or Hatch gloves from Safariland.

Congratulations to the winners:

Team event:  Team RAMROD from West Covina PD
Top department shot:  Sgt. Tony Cortina from West Covina PD
Top open class shot:  Matt Bunning from USCBP
Participation Award:  Danny Tejada from USCBP

Top Shot winner Sgt. Tony Cortina was awarded the grand prize, the Riftblade Backpack from Maxpedtion's Advanced Gear Research line.   Each participant received goodie bags containing the Maxpedition #1703 Keyper and various Morale Patches.   Great job, Tony!

We had a great time exhibiting our products while chatting with the contestants, many already Maxpedition fans, during the break times and absorbing their real-world feedback to improve our products.

We would like to thank Officer Sammy Corder and the other organizers of "The Park Shoot Out" for involving Maxpedition in this positive event that no doubt breeds intradepartmental and interdepartmental camaraderie.

Most importantly, Maxpedition thanks America’s law enforcement heroes and supports their efforts to keep our communities safe.
